Styling a Chloe-inspired Photoshoot

Thank Goodness It's Friday!

It's definitely been a minute since I've posted, but I decided I wanted to start sharing more of my content work from other platforms on here.

Recently, I made a video on my Youtube Channel about a TikTok trend I tried out and wanted it to share it with you guys! The TikTok trend, which I discovered from @phatblackcat entails a person showing the name of a designer brand written on a piece of paper then they shoot an editorial-style photoshoot in the style of the brand that was written. I decided to make my video based on Chloe.

I chose Chloe since it's always been one of my favorite designer brands because of their romantic and feminine aesthetic. I love the structure of their signature bags and their flowy womenswear. However, I was even more proud to call them my favorite designer brand the moment they became a Certified B Corporation thanks to the efforts of their creative director, Gabriella Hearst. Certified B corporations meet the highest standards in terms of “verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors ranging from charitable giving to supply chain practices."

According to bcorporation.net, Certified B Corporations must:

  1. Demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing a risk review. Multinational corporations must also meet baseline requirement standards.

  2. Make a legal commitment by changing their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders, and achieve benefit corporation status if available in their jurisdiction.

  3. Exhibit transparency by allowing information about their performance measured against B Lab’s standards to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab’s website.

Having a luxury fashion house such as Chloe receive this certification gives me hope for a better future in fashion and shows that even the oldest corporations can still reflect, change their ways, and work towards growth. There are definitely times when I start to feel discouraged and feel eco-anxiety when I think about all of the power corporations have over us and how many people don’t care about climate change, but overall when I look at how much progress we’ve made over the course of human history and how many people are working together to fight for a better future, I stop worrying because we can do this. As long as there are people out there who care, we can change for the better, and that's why I wanted to highlight Chloe in this video.

I hope you all enjoy, and let me know which style you liked better from this photoshoot in the comments below!

With Lots of Love,
